Everything you need to know before getting started.

Answers to common questions.

I am out of network, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, if your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be able to get reimbursed for part of the cost. I can provide a superbill after each session, which is an itemized receipt you submit to your insurance company yourself. Many clients get a significant portion of costs back this way.

Before starting therapy, you may want to ask:

  • Does my plan include mental health benefits?
  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it, and has it been met?
  • What do I need to do to receive reimbursement for therapy with an out-of-network provider?
  • What percentage of each therapy session is covered?

A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes all the information your insurance company needs to process an out-of-network claim. I will provide this to you, and you submit it directly to your insurance.

Under federal law, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate before starting therapy. This is a written document that outlines the expected cost of services based on how frequently we meet and how long we expect to work together. I will provide this before our first session.

The intake session (your first full session) is $250. Regular 50-minute sessions are $170.

Yes. I see clients both in person at my Baltimore office and virtually anywhere in Maryland.

It depends. Healing is different for everyone and is influenced by your goals, life circumstances, and the experiences you're working through. We regularly check in about your progress, and I don't believe in keeping clients in therapy longer than it feels helpful.

Completely. Most people feel some version of nervous before their first session, even if they really want to be there. The consultation call is low pressure and designed to help you get a feel for things before you commit. It is a place to ask any questions you may have.

Yes. I work with teenagers who are 16 years old and older.

That is more common than you might think. Therapy is not one thing. The approach matters, the fit matters, and the timing matters. I use a combination of approaches tailored to your needs. The consultation call is a good way to see if this feels right for you.
